Historical
records show Terengganu was an Islamic state well before Melaka
was founded. The present royal family was founded in 1700 with Mansur
Shah becoming Sultan. After World War II, Terengganu joined the
Malay Federation. With 240 kilometers of sandy beaches, Terengganu
boasts some of the best beaches in the country. Gunung Tebu (Tebu
Mountain) offers exciting dirt tracks for dirt bikers and mountain
climbers. Terengganu fisherman are well known for designing and
building their our boats from wood. The best months to visit Terengganu
are between February and October. |
