| Tour Description

0900hrs:
(No Meal) Pick up from hotel lobby for a drive through countryside
brings you to a district called Tuaran, a home to the Dusun Lotud
ethnic. Also popularly known here is the Bajau, another colorful
ethnic of which you will have an opportunity to visit their Mengkabung
Village, perhaps a rare experience and sight to some. Here, wooden
houses are built over the water and on stilts, with fishing remain
a popular main traditional activity for daily living, hence the
name 'Mengkabung traditional fishing water village', apart of few
other jobs in town for mostly the youngsters. Observe the life style
of their living. Other visits would cover the Chinese Taoist Temple
and its tall Pagoda for a bird's eye view of Tuaran town, also brief
visit to the town surrounding.
Continue
driving to its neighbourhood district of Tamparuli for its
popular suspension bridge built across a river. The local
villagers traditionally utilize this but nowadays, often
used as a short cut. Take advantage to try out your balancing
skills. Drive through to Tamparuli town, which is small
and simple like Tuaran. Observe its surrounding and you
might like to make a brief stop and browse at the mini central
market selling local fruits, vegetables and other items.
Retrace your steps back to Kota Kinabalu with en-route stop
at the Pottery factory and choices of handicraft. You might
want to pick some for your souvenir. |
