Local Transportation To/ from the Airport

Taxis are available from the airport and cost about RM12.00 to Kota
Kinabalu city center and RM10.00 to Shangri-la's Tanjung Aru Resort.
Taxi coupons can be purchased from the Airport Taxi counter.
By Road
The overland journey from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu takes average
of 5 hours and 2 ferry crossings at Temburong and Terusan, In Brunei.
In addition, there are 5 checkpoints where passengers have to stamp
their passports to cross the borders.
By Rail

Sabah State Railway's Department provide services to Beaufort and
Tenom that depart from the Tanjung Aru railway station in Kota Kinabalu.
The journey to Beaufort takes less than 2 hours and about 5 hours
for a journey to Tenom town. The ride by railcar through the Padas
River gorge to Tenom is particularly interesting to visitors. For

By Ferry
Ferry services from Kota Kinabalu to Labuan are available every
day from 7.10am to 3.00pm. For those who intend to go to Brunei,
ferries are available from Labuan jetty
Bus

For those who wish to take a bus from Kota Kinabalu International
Airport, a bus stop is available about 10 minutes walk away. The
fare is about RM1.00 per person to the city centre. A bus station
behind the Centre Point Complex provides services to areas within
Kota Kinabalu city and the suburbs. For those intending to travel
to other towns in Sabah, such as Ranau, Sandakan, coaches and taxis
are available at the terminal behind the Kota Kinabalu state Library.
It is advised that passengers make advanced bookings before their
journey.
