Day 01
Meet at Hotel Lobby or APT(preferably on MH 2042), drop off Sim Sim Water Village or Sandakan Central Market to browse around and observe the local market scene. From Market transfer to jetty for boat ride to Selingan Island. The journey to Island take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. On arrival, register at the Turtle Island Parks HQ and check into chalet. After lunch at Cafeteria, free at own leisure e.g. swimming or snorkeling. After dinner, waiting for the rangers call to observe turtle lay eggs. Transfer the eggs to the Hatchery and if there is any young turtle hatchlings, an opportunity to observe the release of the turtles to the sea. Overnight at Chalet (Common or Attached Bathroom). Day 02
0700 AM depart Island to Sandakan. After breakfast at Sim Sim Water Village, proceed overland to Gomantong Birdnest Cave, journey will take approximately 2 hours passing by Oil Palm plantations and villages. Upon arrival, 15 minutes walk on the jungle trail to the cave. Explore one of the fascinating cave in Sabah, the cave is home to the millions of Bats and Swiflets. The nest of the swiflets are collected for the famous chinese edible birdnest soup. Depart overland half an hour journey to arrive our lodge in Sukau for lunch then free at own leisure. Late afternoon, cruise up the Kinabatangan River to search for wildlife or notably Proboscis Monkeys. Return lodge for dinner and overnight at Old Ben Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 03
After breakfast, 0700 AM depart overland to Sandakan for Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Experience a close encounter with the "Wildman of Borneo" and tamed Orang Utan are being rehabilitated to become wild. Witness the Orang Utan feeding by the rangers. After lunch, proceed to Sandakan City tour which inclusive of; Malay Fishing Village of Kampung Buli Sim Sim where the houses are built on stilts, Puh Jih Syh Buddhist Chinese Temple which at 300 M above sea level offers a Panoramic view of Sandakan Bay and Rotary Observation Pavillion for a bird's eye view of Sandakan Town. Return to Hotel or APT. (B/L)

Insect Repellant, raincoat, good walking shoes, Tevas(sandals), sun screen lotion, sun hat, torch light, Binocular, personal toiletries and extra clothing.

IMPORTANT

  • Please take note that Sabah Parks forbid visitors taking photographs or video of the Turtles whether at night or during the day time.
  • The Sabah Parks also forbid visitor from going around the island on their own from 6:00pm - 6:00am.
