when it comes to entertainment. Whether you're interested in shopping
for bargains, indulging in culture, partying the night away or just

Shop
till you drop
Selangors
most modern city has a few of the countrys leading shopping centres
and a host of department stores and specialist shops. Cruising along
Petaling Jaya, one cannot help but be awed by the bustling activity
of the numerous shopping malls that have mushroomed around the city.
Strategically
located in the heart of PJ is the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre.
Housing more than 250 tenants, it is known as one of the most comprehensive
and convenient shopping malls, providing value-for-money products
and services. This mall also offers a variety of entertainment outlets
such as Pyramid Bowl, a 48-pin palace, and Sega City, the regions
premier multimedia entertainment theme park.
The
mix of merchandise is excellent at One Utama Shopping Centre and
you can buy virtually everything here. Located in Bandar Utama,
a prestigious residential neighbourhood, this shopping haven adopts
an all-in-one shopping concept. The Summit USJ, conveniently located
in the thriving USJ residential area offers a convenient and comfortable
way to shop with a wide selection of stores offering a varied selection
of goods at affordable prices.
There
are at least four major shopping malls in Shah Alam, with Shah Alam
Mall being the most frequented one. A favourite entertainment and
dining destination among locals and tourist alike, it is a one-stop
shopping mall for the whole family. Others in the area include Kompleks
PKNS Shah Alam and Plaza Alam Central.
Located
just minutes away from Shah Alam is another great shopping paradise,
Klang. For a mesmerising shopping experience, step into the Bukit
Raja Shopping Centre where specialty shops abound. Other malls worth
visiting are situated in Klang, namely the Klang Parade and Shaw
Centrepoint.
The
Night Market, held in some residential areas once a week, is a good
way to catch a glimpse into local life. There are nine night markets
held in the PJ main residential area and five each at Subang Jaya,
Shah Alam and Klang. Its a different experience altogether and the
best thing about it is, you can get nearly everything here, from
household stuff, CDs, watches, clothing, toys to a variety of food,
all under the dark blue sky. Whats more, you can bargain to your
hearts content.

and the great outdoors

Malaysia
Agriculture Park in Shah Alam covers 1,295 hectares of virgin forestland
is a must-see for nature lovers. The much talked-about place provides
visitors with the opportunity to appreciate the wonders of agriculture
and nature preserve. One of the most convenient ways to see the
park is to hire a bicycle. Some of the attractions here include
a beautifully landscaped orchid garden, fishing ponds, Malay village
houses, an animal park, a mushroom garden, a spice and beverage
garden, a four-season temperature garden, among others. Staying
a night or two at the inexpensive chalets or just camping at the
site is highly recommended.
Another
venue for some spectacular adventure and never-ending excitement
for the entire family is the Wet World Shah Alam. This 2.4-hectare
water park is especially great to cool off on those hot sunny days.
The main attraction here is the Monsoon Buster, a 225-metre water
tunnel that never fails to thrill. Other attractions that should
not be missed include the Light House Escape, Atlantis, the Neptune
Challenge, Treasure Island and the Tunnel Water Coaster.
Nightlife
As
soon as the sun sets in Petaling Jaya and its neighbouring towns,
the cities come alive when all the nightspots start opening their
doors. Some of the best places to visit after dark include Bandar
Sunway, Damansara, Subang Jaya and Klang town. With the large number
of nightspots and cafes available here, boredom is never an option.
The
hottest nightspot in the Klang Valley would definitely be Bali.
The place, which encompasses a dance club, a pool club, an Italian
restaurant, an Asian restaurant and an outdoor courtyard.
The Promenade, a three storey entertainment haven, houses some of
the best nightspots in town, such as Spikes and L?Unique Cocktail
& Wine Bar. Whether you're in search of some good music, excellent
food or just drinks, this place never fails to deliver.
If
you're planning to go pub hopping, then the best place to head would
be Bandar Sunway. Within walking distance from the famous Sunway
Lagoon Resort Hotel, you'll find more than 50 bars and pubs scattered
around with their vibrating loud music and leon lights.
The
Sphinx is a great place to hang out with friends or just go wild
dancing the night away. Adopting an Egyptian and Greek d?or, the
place will mesmerise you with its charm and magic.
For
a really wild evening, head down to Razz-Ma-Tazz Discotheque and
party till the wee hours of the morning. The talk of the valley,
this nightspot spreads out over 7,000 sqm, replete with futuristic
lights and blast beams. Pool fans are not left out, as there is
the Sunway American Pool Club with its 11 pool tables and spacious
layout.
Back
in Damansara, Viva Dance Club will get your pulse beating fast while
Jungle Bar provides a different jungle-like atmosphere with some
