is rich in history. It is founded by an exiled
prince from Sumatra, Parameswara, in 1400.
As it followed, Malacca flourished as a port
and trading center between the East and West.
In 1511, Malacca fell to the hands of the
Portuguese, then the Dutch and finally to
the British. Today, the city is a wonderful
melange of culture and tradition, with many
